General Information

On 26 March 1995 the Schengen Visa was introduced. The Netherlands is part
of the Schengen countries. Other Schengen partners are: Austria, Belgium,
Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg,
Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.

The visa is one of the conditions to get free access to the Schengen area.
When crossing the border you may be asked to supply the controlling officer
with original documents that provide proof of your financial means, of insurance
against costs for medical treatment or repatriation, of the purpose of your
travel, length of stay, etc.

How to make an appointment?
When applying for a Schengen visa personal
appearance is required. Applications for Schengen Visa can be made by
appointment only. When preparing your travel please be aware of a waiting
period of approximately five weeks or more before an appointment can
be granted. A request for an earlier appointment can not be granted.
To set an appointment please dial one of the following phone numbers:

   For PLDT/digitel/smart subscibers 1-909-101-3456
   For Globe/ Innove/touchmobile subscribers 1-900-101-3456
   For Bayantel subscribers 1-903-101-3456
Please note that this service is only available to all subscribers using NDDenabled
telephones with touch-tone features and applies to calls made from
within the Philippines only.

For an inquiry on the status of your visa application you may contact the Visa
Department of Netherlands embassy (telno: 02-786-6655) from Monday to
Thursday between 2.00 pm -3.00 pm.

Where should I apply?
You may obtain a Schengen-visa in the Philippines at
the mission of the Schengen State that represents the country of your main
destination. The main destination is defined by purpose of the journey and/or
length of stay. If your main destination cannot be ascertained, contact the
mission of the Schengen State of your first entry.

Please be reminded that an application for a visa does not confer on the
applicant the right to obtain a visa. Once a visa has been issued, the purpose
of the visit cannot be altered.

Please take notice of the next important details:
     • please note that due to a mandatory consultation with the other
Schengen partners the processing time will take at least 14 calender days.
     • make an appointment in time. In some periods during the year there

       required documents.

will be allowed to deliver the missing documents. Otherwise the
applicant will receive an official refusal.
     • if necessary, the applicant can be asked to provide additional
