Travel specialist Ventures was founded in 1999 in response to the lack of travel-related services in Diliman area
in Quezon City. It started as a home-based enterprise with three staff including its founder and Chief Executive Officer,
Ms. Rowena Valdes-Coloma.
It
differentiated itself from the few travel agencies operating in the area by paying particular attention to customer’s
needs and wants, specifically personalized service, delivery to tickets and responding to the agent request. It business motto
is “Service is our Business”.
After more
than 10years of operation, TSV has grown by leaps and bounds, way beyond the expectation of its founder. The number of staff
has grown to 22, and its client portfolio has expanded considerably. From an agency catering primarily to viajeras and
international humanitarian organizations, it is now serving the needs of tourist in-Diliman and surrounding areas and even
the provinces. Local and international humanitarian organizations such as the World Vision, Save the children- United Kingdom,
Oxfam Great Britain, APFTI,ARCS, (IPD)Institute for popular democracy, ECPAT, ASIA ACTS, faculty and staff of the UP College
of Social Work and Community Development and the Asian Institute of Management, the Swedish Embassy, OIKO Credit the Microfinance
Council of the Philippines, the CBCRM Network, the Card Bank in Laguna, UPLB-CDC, UNLAD, MFA, TDS, Aids Society of
the Philippines, ECLOFE-net have become institutional clients. They have been handling the accounts of several consultants
of Asian Development Bank, WHO and UN for several years now.
They pride
themselves for being flexible in dealing with people from all walks of life from ordinary contract workers to professional
skilled workers to employees to businessmen to expatriates. The staff commitment and dedication to serve their clients is
beyond measure. They do not work only during office hours; they are almost always available when you need them.
Furthermore,
it has opened a branch in Phnom Penh to serve the needs of the ever-growing Filipino community in Cambodia. Especially NGO
and garment factory staff.
For the five
years, TSV sees itself as one of the tour operators of outbound passengers in the country, particularly to the Mekong Sub-Region,
being one of the major providers of tours in Indio-China. It will also continue to provide the best service possible, and
one of the leaders in professional travel management. In June 2005, Philippines Airlines gave accreditation to TSV to issue
domestic tickets in their Quezon City Office.
The TVS will
also strive to be a model of in people management by continuing to share some of its revenues with its employees and providing
inexpensive services to charitable institutions and helping them in their projects. For travel specialist Ventures, it seeks
to promote “business with the heart and quality service at affordable prices.”
